"Right. This isn't anything on the Blitz," Walter said, surveying the wreck. "We have to stop traffic because we shouldn't move the mother until an ambulance gets here."

"Okay, that makes sense, as far as it goes." Parker got out road flares and set them up to block off the road, after calling 911. "One of you guys get the baby out of the car."

Cally blinked at the overturned car. She wasn't totally prepared for this sort of thing on her first day of the course.

"Umm... don't we need, like, jaws of life or something to do this?"

Scenario: A man is choking in the middle of a crowded restaurant. Rushing to help him, a waiter has dropped a bottle of wine and slipped on the glass fragments, which are now sticking out of his knee. You can also hear a chef cursing from the kitchen, where he has clumsily dipped several fingers into a vat of hot oil.

"Right, Jamie," Elliot said, cheating by checking his name. "But, okay. You've done that. The guy is still choking, the chef is still howling, and the poor waiter is getting blood all over the carpet. What's next?"

"Somebody who knows the Heimlich Maneuver should help the choking guy. That's the only life-threatening situation at the moment, so it should take priority," Peter piped in.

Scenario:There is a beach full of people who are rapidly becoming extremely and obviously sunburned, and who all appear deeply asleep. Some of them are also being nibbled on by a herd of angry badgers; others are almost underwater due to the rising tide.

Also, your nose itches.

"I'm not entirely sure these people deserve to be saved if they don't wake up when hungry badgers are trying to eat them," Peter said with a frown. "It's called self-preservation yo. I suppose there might be an alarm bell somewhere we could ring to wake them up?"

"They may be asleep because of some sickness or drug," said Seras, "In which case they A) Don't deserve to die and B) The alarm won't wake them up. Maybe we should start by splitting into groups. One drags the people out of the water, and the other chases away the badgers?"

"Like something on the beach put them all to sleep?" Peter considered the possibility. "I don't want to sound timid, but badgers can be awfully vicious creatures. Maybe we ring the bell in hopes that it startles some of them and also perhaps calls us other assistance if we end up actually having to chase them off."

Make them into a sling, demonstrate wound technique, wear them like hats .... the possibilities are endless.

Jamie is trying to tie a sling.

On himself. Or a duplicate rather.

"You're doing it wrong."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes. Yes, you are."

"How do you know?"

"Because I don't know how to do it, so therefore you must be messing it up."

Elliot blinked. "Um, you need to fold it a little more and -- I'm sorry, but is this some weird dream or are there actually two of you?"

"Weird dream," one of them said

"There are two of us," said the other.

"You're not being nice."

"You're no fun."

Jamie sighs and absorbs his duplicate. "Yeah. It's a thing I can do. Make duplicates of myself.
