School Announcements, 1/30/06
There is the sound of tapping against a microphone as the P.A. switches on, and the noicese echo throughout the school.
"Hey, hello? Is this thing on? Ha, rock! It is, isn't it? Now, I know you was expectin' Mister Smithy-poo to be givin' you these lovely announcements today? But he's not here anymore. The man has left the building. So today, I, Dewey Finn, am the man. So first, a quick shout out to all the members of Mister Simian's history classes last semester. I'm back, kids! Oh, and now I'm supposed to read out these announcements that the office guy gave me.
Okay, the first order on the agenda is that I am your new acting Principal. Mister Smith apparently was told to take some time off by the board of directors or something. So I'm here to be subsitute until he can return. Yay me. I hope you all, you know, love and respect me as a human being, and I want everyone to know that I'll honor any little arrangements and rulings Smith had made. I'm a gonna be wandering about and taking in the school atmosphere today, but I will definitely be sitting in my new office tommorow, so you all can come in and bug me then, okay kiddies?
The other thing on my announcements is that we apologize for any messes that still exist after the evil snow attack over the weekend."
There is a slight pause.
"Evil snow attack? Come on guys, that's not funny. Why'd you write this for me? Now I sound like an idiot over the little school speakers and everything. Come on, evil snow attack? Why not just make it zombies, or aliens, or vampires or something really ridiculous. Sheesh.
