The puppies were gone from class this week. Instead Anakin was at the front in his customary Jedi robes, looking solemn. "Recent political events here have brought back some...less pleasant recollections from my home galaxy, which overthrew its democratic system in favor of an Emperor who then enacted heavy-handed policies against women, and non-human species--which, it might be stated, was most of the galaxy."

"When such tragedies occur - and we do not mean to imply that this will be such a tragedy - there are different ways to deal with them," Obi-Wan said solemnly. "Many simply go on with their daily lives, hoping no wrath will come upon them."

Anakin made a little face at that. "Other--especially those who are targeted by the government's wrath--choose to go into hiding."

"There is something to be said for ensuring your own safety and biding your time," Obi-Wan said. "We are not all equipped to tackle the universe's wars all on our own."

Anakin nodded. "But sometimes you just have to stand up and say, no, this is wrong. Today we're going to have a discussion about where your personal line for that might be, and how you might go about offering opposition in a productive way."

Like, say, joining a Rebellion. Cough.
