Bond's class was in the Danger Shop this week, a wide grassy sports field, with a set of goals at one end that looked suspiciously like old-fashioned bee hives and a patch of brightly coloured flowers at the other from which a faint buzzing could be heard. Each student had also been handed what looked like an unholy cross between a badminton racquet and butterfly net, a set of white coveralls and glovers, and a netted hat.
"Good afternoon," Bond greeted them. "Today you'll be trying your hand at the old and obscure art of Bee-Twatting, wherein you must herd a swarm of specially trained bees from the flower end of the field to the hive end in the manner of apiarists of old. Points are deducted for squished bees, so use a light hand with your gear." Yes, he did manage to deliver that with a straight face.
