The Art of Scrap, Friday, Period 4

Dean was starting to get that look about him. The look of a man who had hidden himself away from the world on the weekend on account of surprise breasts, only to lose himself in artistic projects right up until yesterday, when a bunch of the most horrifying toys he'd ever seen had wound up staring him down until, well, it was either him or them.

Dean McCoppin was a force to be reckoned with when he had a crowbar at his disposal, thanks.

"So, this week we're going to do something a little different," he said as students filed into the art room. "I seem to have gotten my hands on... a large number of spare doll parts, no idea how that happened, really, and I'm looking for some way to make use of them. Your mission is to do something with the odds and ends to make them a bit more presentable. Paint 'em up, re-clothe them, re-hair them, give them little hats or whatever, I don't care. Any dolls that don't look like they're going to try to eat us alive by the time we're done the class are going to be donated to go to kids who wouldn't get a toy like this otherwise. So, uh, try to get some of the creepiness off, guys."

Look, it had seemed like a waste to just throw the parts in the trash. And Dean spent an inordinate amount of time at the junkyard in the first place, and he didn't want to trip across any of these creepy doll pieces. There was a bunch of paint, and doll hair, and new eyes and bits of fabric and all sorts of other moddable supplies to work with, so students could go nuts.

"If you don't want to do that, then you can always work on your sculpture pieces. Classes for the rest of the semester are going to alternate between lectures and recycling projects like this, and you guys will get the option to work on your final projects during any class you'd prefer to."

A pause.

"And, of course, there's coffee."

Did you expect any different?
