"Fighting with powers... Most of this semester we've discussed powers that at least some of you possess, but today we're going to talk about one that, as far as I know, none of you have much facility with: enhanced speed."
"Like most powers, speed enhancements tend to vary in strength. You could end up with anything from a slight advantage to being able to move so fast that it's hard for the human eye to track you. Up to a certain point, you can fight people faster than you the same way you'd fight anyone else, but at a certain point that becomes infeasible."
Max smiled just a bit. "Now, a lot of people will tell you that someone who's enough faster than you is simply unbeatable, but that's not true. The trick to fighting someone who's sufficiently fast is to out think them. Just because someone is fast doesn't mean you can't anticipate their moves. For instance, if you can manage to fight someone in a narrow hallway you can guarantee which direction they'll come from. On top of that, moving that fast can be a danger. If you trip while running a hundred miles an hour, it's going to hurt when you hit the ground. So maneuver into bad terrain for moving, try to figure out what patterns your opponent will fall into (and they always fall into some pattern), and see if you can trip them up. Use their speed and momentum against them."
"If you can."
"Today's activity is actually pretty simple. You are free to work in groups, or to do this individually, but what you'll be doing is fighting these helpful little speedy drones that the Danger Shop has provided. The speed is moddable random on each one, so hopefully you'll all get a chance to try out a few different techniques and get a feel for how to fight opponent's with different speed levels."
"So, that's it. Get to it."
