Jun 25, 2009 09:15

Ah, finals week. The best week of the term, so far as Algren was concerned. Today was the day that he could throw whatever he felt like at the kids, call it a major assignment, and then send them on their merry way while letting them think that he actually had taken time to come up with this stuff ( Read more... )

Such at is is. Listen, talk amongst yourselves, debate whether or not Algren is just in this to confuse the hell out of you after all.

Confused? Yes, Kenshin was confused. For one thing, he didn't think himself qualified to be a 'big brother.' For another... That strange, almost kanjji-like figure was supposed to represent a person?

Uh.

What?

He is two-dimensional and confused, and I'll be here to NPC to your heart's content. I'm quite willing to slowplay, if you want to participate but you're not necessarily around for a while.

See, back when Arthur had arrived on the island, he had mistaken his 'big sib' Chad for a servant (which, mind, he did really kind of behave like) and as such he was still a little lost on the whole position as a whole.

Nevermind that the stick figure was completely ridiculous. He just doubted that pointing that out to Algren would do much for him.

So he cleared his throat. "You're a new student?" A stick figure. A stick figure.

"I am!" The stick figure nodded his agreement with a bobbly movement of his two-dimensional head. "Sorry I don't have a nametag like everyone else. Nowhere to pin it on, you know?"

He held out his... hand. For a handshake. That was totally a hand. Really.

"Good to meet you!"

Yes, for which Arthur was very grateful. The 'stick sib', in fact, got a few odd looks for being otherwise.

... He was also still stuck in his spandex outfit, and looking more than eager about the idea of leaving.

Peyton couldn't quite help casting a few quick glances in Arthur's direction despite her best efforts.

Just... spandex, you know. And worn on someone who had the body to carry it off.

Hard to ignore.

Arthur's smug was somewhat offset by the discomfort of the outfit and memories of a particularly embarrassing week, so he did his best not to acknowledge any of the glances.

Which didn't, mind, mean he wasn't storing them for later propping-up of his ego.
