"I offered to let my teammate crash with me if she needed to," Bridge says. He's not going to mention that the reason she might need to was to avoid getting in trouble for breaking a newly-created rule from their oh-so-temporary replacement Principal.

"Um," Bridge blushes. "Well, the offer came up because there was a chance she might be forced to no longer stay in *her* room, which would make her homeless, or at least roomless, and alleviating homelessness is something I feel that everyone should be concerned about."
"I refused to abandon my roommate. If I had abandoned him, he would be lonely and sad, which would make me a bad citizen," Z said. Never mind that her refusal went directly against Temporary Principal Umbridge's new rules.

"That might be stretching it," Dale said in a jovial tone. "However if you write a handwavy letter to your congressman or local political leader sometime before the next class we can say you met your requirement."
