As students entered the wooded area, they would notice the woman in black leather perched on the picnic table, which was surrounded by chairs. Anyone familiar with Aeryn Sun might be surprised by the similarity of their appearances, except for the white streaks in Vala's hair and the more relaxed and lounging demeanor

Just as class was ending, Rikku stepped into the room, a cat-filled messenger bag slung over her shoulder. "Oh! Hi!" she said, waving to Vala. "I didn't realize you were teaching this class!"

Vala grinned when she saw Rikku, "Hi! I wasn't expecting to see you here today, Rikku. How are you?"

"Hiya! I'm ... okay, having a crappy week but that's such a mess, you don't even want to know." She shook her head. "And I'm here 'cause, uh, Jude's supposed to be in this class, and Jude's kinda ..." Rikku nodded to the Judekitty. "Not really student material at the moment."

"Do I want to know how this happened?" Vala asked, respecting Rikku's apparent desire for privacy. It was unusual enough behavior from what she knew of the girl to actually cause her to remember about personal boundaries.

Rikku blushed faintly. "Uh, the ... it just kinda happens, around here? But Fandom's got a sense of humor. It usually, uh ..."

Okay. This was Vala, who rocked, and was apparently some kinda thief on a major scale, which meant she wasn't the usual Authority Figure type, so Rikku bit her lip and gestured a bit vaguely. "... It usually happens right at exactly the kinda moment where you really, really don't want your boyfriend to be a snuggly little lapcat."
