Isabel opened the library on time, her coffee in hand. She was still thinking about the message she'd gotten last night.

Unable to resist much longer, she was at the computer looking at dresses on various websites.

Anders stopped into the library after his Explosions workshop, hands in his pockets and looking rather ashamed of himself. "Hey, big sis."

"Anders! Hi! What's up?" Isabel asked, slightly more subdued then usual in deference to Karal who was busy working intently at his table.

"In Parker's place, I think now is the time where you smack me in the head," he said soberly.

Isabel raised an eyebrow, "Can I know why I'm supposed to hit you?"

Anders gulped. "Bel said he talked to you over the weekend? You probably noticed he was acting weird . . ."

"Yeah, he was in share mode," she said, smiling at the memory. "He must have flailed when the gremlin bite wore off."

"That's the thing." Anders exhaled slowly and ran a hand over his face. "It wasn't a gremlin bite. I did something really, really stupid."

Isabel facepalmed. "Oh Anders, what did you do?"

"It was a spell, big sis," Anders blurted out. "I got . . . someone . . . to cast a spell to make him be more open, just 'cause I got fed up with him never wanting to talk about how he felt about me. I know, I know, it was stupider than hell."

"Very stupid," she agreed. "What happened? Did he find out?"

"It must've worn off, but he didn't forget the stuff he said." Anders dropped into the nearest chair, looking even more miserable, if it was possible. "He woke up yesterday freaking out about it, and when we admitted to the spell . . . yeah."

"Oh ouch," Isabel sighed, pulling up a chair to sit next to him. "What happened?"

Anders let out a brief, mirthless laugh and started fiddling with the unraveling hem of his t-shirt. "He said he thought he was done being forced to do things against his will when he left the Underworld, and then he left. I talked to him, we mostly worked things out, but now I worry he's never going to really trust me again, and he'd be right not to."

"He has a point," she said. "After all he went through with the Source, yeah, I don't think he'd like being compelled to do anything." Isabel patted his shoulder sympathetically, "It'll take time, and you're probably going to have to prove to him that he can trust you. But it'll work out."

"You'd think," Anders said dryly, "after that, and after Phoebe got possessed too, I'd know better than to come up with ideas like this. I cannot believe I was that dumb . . . wanting to know how he felt wasn't worth doing that to him. I feel like an idiot, big sis."
