When the students wander up to the main campfire today, they'll notice two very large boxes and several bunches of pink and blue balloons. For now, John ignores those.

"Welcome back," he said, "and I hope you're all enjoying being back in the dorms. Nice to have walls and doors again, isn't it?"

( And now that the small talk is over... )

"I grew up in a roadhouse," Jo said. "Trust me, nothing spreads faster than stories about people doing untoward things to farm animals."

He laughed and said, "Okay. Which teacher could you see the farm animals rumor most annoying?"

John snorted before dissolving into laughter. "I hadn't but now I am. what if he said that was a gift from a friend?"

Jo was unaware how much she sounded like Ellen just then.

Nodding again, he said, "So, Hades like the ducks and we don't mean in a 'let me feed them' sort of way. Sound about right for a rumor?"
