Aly had oh so handwavily asked her students to meet her at the main campfire.  When then students arrived, they'd see an assortment of devices that looked a lot like bombs running the gamut from the type of bomb you'd see in the movies to less sophisticated devices.

Pair up with someone and disarm the bombs - What colour wire should be cut first? Should you try the pigstick?

As you're working, I'll ping into threads occasionally to mod your bombs. Because sometimes, you can do everything right and it still just blows up.

Gavin took a seat and scratched his head. He could set off bombs but this required concentration and a knowledge he didn't have. Stupid being from another planet.

"It's the red wire," Seely said. "Always the red wire."

"Because red means stop?" Gavin asked. Wires. Why did there have to be wires?

Seely shrugged. "I'm not sure why," he said. "It's just always the red wire."

"Do you want to cut it then?" Gavin asked, holding out the wire cutters to Seely.

Seely took the cutters. "Okay," he said. "Here goes nothing."

He cut the red wire.

It wasn't quite nothing. Because apparently the red wire was the wrong one.

The bomb went off, splattering pink paint over a few doofuses.

Seely calmly wiped paint off his face. "Obviously, Aly watches the same movies as me."

"The red wire was wrong," Gavin said and pushed Seely's shoulder before wiping his own face and neck off.

"Next time we'll cut a different one," Seely said. "At least with these, we have a next time."

"Yeah, Gavin said and grimaced at the pink paint. "We can try the blue wire next?"

Seely offered Gavin the cutters. "Be my guest."

"Right." Gavin took the cutters and stared at the blue wire. "Cutting."

And he cut the blue wire.

The bomb was not disarmed yet though. It was still ticking.
