How to Blow Things Up: Period 2, Week 2

The class met in the Danger Room today.  Aly was looking beyond gleeful at the situation.

"Okay guys, our first practical class is here in the Danger Room so everyone can get used to the way handling explosives feel without the possibility of them actually blowing you up.  This one is going to be a redux for those of you who were in my Revolutions

Under what circumstances would these two types of bombs be useful? Why would you use them? What makes them so useful?

The fuel oil and the fertiliser need to be mixed up. As soon as that happens, the fertiliser starts oxidizing and will be ready to explode.

After it's mixed, there are pipes for the mixture to be tamped into and fuses to be added.

Play with it handwavily. If you want to screw up and have it ignite too soon, that's fine, but Danger Room so you won't get hurt. Just a flash and a bit of a bang to show you screwed up.

[OOC: I know, I'm totally messing with the chemistry of the ignition, but go with it handwavily for me?]

Dean looked at the ingredients provided. "This doesn't look too difficult," he said.

"Definitely need to watch that last one, guys as hot as us," Dean said, waggling his eyebrows at Seely.

[Explodey 5-22] Molotov Cocktails.

Mix half gasoline, half motor oil (so the gasoline will stick) and pour it into a glass bottle and stop it up with a rag.

There are plenty of supplies for everyone to make things as boomerific as possible.

Charlie was being super, incredibly, amazingly, totally careful as she put the the cocktails together. Nothing was getting spilled. Not too full, not too little.

The Danger Room's been set up to look like...well, to look a lot like the big pile of rubble that was once the school.

Charlie held the Molotov cocktail in her hand, then looked at the rubble. "Every student's dream," she mutter out loud. Then took a breath, and lit the cocktail with a lighter, and threw it at the rubble.

"Incoming!"

Aly chuckled as she watched the explosion. "That looked like it went well."

"It does, doesn't it?" Charlie said, staring happily at the flames, then sending Aly a slightly guilty smile. "I probably shouldn't be enjoying this so much. It's not even the remains of my school."

But fire was just... cool. And this kind couldn't get away from her.
