It's like a Hallmark activity gone horribly wrong! Find what's different about the drowning pictures.

Handout:
Time of death:
Cause of death:
Other injuries:
Trace evidence on body:

[ooc: Answers for the class exercise are totally moddable. Handout = stuff you find out in the crime scene threads]

Parker held the photos up, checking them against each other, skin color, whites of the eyes, and the internal injuries.

"You should wait until after the final before you tell me that." Abby grinned. "You just might not like it as much after that."

The warehouse is bare, but studious students will be able to discover two sets of footprints in the sawdust behind a crate. They'll also find that the downed wire was cut.

Lana carefully examined the scene, taking pictures of the scene and the footprints and making careful note of everything there.

Alphonse carefully circled around the scene, looking for anything that seemed off or could contribute to figuring out what had happened. Whenever he did, he took careful note of it.

Rikku wandered around the warehouse, not focusing as well as usual. Her heart wasn't really in it. But she did find the footprints eventually.

Crime Scene - I see dead people! cheerfulgoth April 18 2007, 01:54:46 UTC
Jake is lying in a puddle of water, looking...well, mostly just looking wet.

[ooc: Jake's not really dead so normal playing rules apply. Please not to be messing with the character without checking with the player first.]

Jake was dead. Yes, indeed. At least he hadn't been shot in the head this time, he thought ruefully and waited for people to ask him stuff from his list.

"Hey Jake," Lana said with as much of a smile as she could manage today. "Um... time and cause of death? Any other injuries? Anything else I should notice? Like trace evidence, I mean?"

"01:07 AM, and electrocution," Jake informed her, smiling back. "And I have bruises from hitting the ground." He thought for a moment. "Oh yeah, and there's sawdust on my shoulder."

No lab needed today. Just tell the cops whether you think it's an accident or a crime. Feel free to figure out the crime if you want.

Lana explained how Jake and his friend had snuck into the warehouse (getting sawdust on him in the process) to try and steal wire, not realizing that the one Jake was cutting into was live. After having live current run through him, he'd fallen to the ground and into the puddle of water.

Which is so not in any way like the case around here a few weeks ago. *eye roll* Except there was no puddle.

Parker frowned. "Jake's death was set up to look like an accident-- the wires here were never life. So he was killed somewhere else, then brought here and his death staged to look like an attempted break-in."
