Library [04/06]

When Rory came into the library on Friday morning - on time and everything! - she found a sign on the counter reading, "FORMS (NOT FOR EATING)."

She paused, staring at it, and then decided she really didn't want to know. This was probably something like that stupid Chosen One restriction from last year.

She was perched behind the desk, still looking sleepy...but otherwise, looking healthier than she had in weeks.

And naturally she had an enormous cup of coffee in front of her.

Rory decided to get her work done early in the day for once, and took second period to dust shelves.

Rikku wandered into the library uncertainly, but cheered up a bit at seeing Rory there. "Hi!" she waved. "I, uh, kinda need some help with something?"

"Hi!" Rory said, setting down her cleaning things. "Like a book thing or a something else thing?"

"Oh! A book thing. I mean, a library-kinda thing." She waved a bit. "There's, uh. There are books here about ... like."

Her voice dropped a little, and she seemed flustered. "Existence? Dimensions? Dimensional barriers? The dead, the living, the whole ... that kind of thing?"

And since she had done that, she had no qualms about using third period to shop online for her shoes for prom.

By the time lunch had rolled around, Rory had found The Shoes.

She also was happily eating an assortment of junk food that would make her mother proud. But at least she was eating.
