There were egg cartons, cotton, peanut butter, foam, dowels, boxes of all sizes, glue, tape, and many many other materials ( Read more... )

River waited for Alanna, having collected some large springs and a pillow. She hoped that her boiling the egg before handing it over to her co-egg parent wouldn't become too obvious.

Alanna dug the egg out of her pocket with a bandage covered hand. At some point, she had sloppily drawn eyes, mouth, and hair on the egg. Poor egg. "Here. I can't use scissors or anything that requires finger movement."

"Doesn't matter," River said. "I can." She placed the egg on the pillow and wrapped it around it, with the springs attatched on the outside now faving in all directions. "I boiled the egg. Should be sturdier now. And not rotten."

Up on the roof! krycek_rat December 21 2006, 07:18:45 UTC
It's your turn to drop off your egg-baby - hope you weren't attached or anything.

Tyler and Jack took Bob to the roof. "Go in peace," Tyler said, while Jack gave the egg in its box a solemn pat.

The parachute caught the air, and the box floated gently to the ground. When its "fathers" went down and opened the box, he was in one piece.

"I think he enjoyed the trip," Tyler suggested. "And now, dinner." But it was clear he was joking.

River held the egg, wrapped in a pillow with springs attached, over the edge. "Ready?" she asked Alanna.

Discussion Question krycek_rat December 21 2006, 07:21:04 UTC
Krycek looked at the class, amused. "So now we're done with that and we're down to the discussion question.

"How did you feel about dropping your egg after watching it for a week? If you didn't, why not? What if it were a real child and you were ordered to do something similar?"

Plainly he'd been amused by telling people to drop their fake children off the edge of a building. Feel free to bitch at him here, if you haven't already.

"Well...I wouldn't drop Aly I wouldn't drop her off of a building. Or hell, anyother kid, no matter how annoying. But it's an egg and flying eggs are cool."

"Even one you were charged with watching as if it were a child?" Krycek cocked his head.

Alanna stared at Krycek. "One? It's an egg. Two? I had a bad weekend. Er...Friday afternoon. Weekend long Friday afternoon." She blinked a few times to make that sentance make sense in her own head. "Whatever. The point is, it's just an egg and no matter what you do to it? It'll stay an edible object."
