"I recieved the complete works of Shakespeare for my birthday yesterday," Rory told her. "I'm working my way through them. Last night was Amleth and Scottish Play and I started on the sonnets."

"How exciting! And happy late birthday," Yomiko said, grabbing a bookmark off the stack and offering it to Rory. "You turned...seventeen?" she guessed.

Yomiko searched her admittedly weak knowledge of the American legal system. "That means...you can vote, doesn't it?"

"Yes!" Rory said, bouncing. "And I'm viewed as a legal adult now, and not a minor anymore. And I can buy bad things but I care about that a lot less than the voting thing."
