When the students entered the gym this morning, they'd find a platform there that wasn't unlike a boxing ring. Yondaime wasn't there, but Zuko was leaning against the ropes of the ring as he waited for everyone to get inside before speaking up

Jim stretched before picking up a pugil stick and swinging it a few times to check the weight, loosening up while he waited for a partner.

Yeah, like Setsuna wasn't going to be excited about a spar for class. She took up her stick, stetched with it a moment, swing it around to get used to it, and then looked around for a partner. There might be been bouncing. Just a wee tiny bit.
