...is live. There's no news post for it yet, but the lj_releases post is now up. We don't know all the changes it brings, bad or good, but what we do know is this:

If you have a Paid or Plus account (at this point it doesn't work for Basic, but we don't know if that will change because see above per staff, that's a bug and will be fixed), then

They seem to have broken "Show userpic on friends page" because right now I can't tell who posted what on my friends page. I see the entries but no icon or user name indicating who posted it.

I had that issue with the Randomness theme. I switched to a different theme and they all reappeared.

T'isn't working for me. Every Minimalism theme I try still doesn't show user-pics or usernames on the flist. (I've reported it along with everything else, on the lj-releases post.)

I switched to a few different ones and they never came back. Annoying.

I'm using "Travel Afar". I also had to go in and change the settings to show Friend's icons as well though my icons on my recent entries page are turned off.

Never mind. When I changed themes it turned off "Use old comments" automatically. When I changed it back the icons disappeared again.

MP has already posted the problem in the post release.

Nic filed a support ticket on it, so she gets all the thanks. Hers is probably more likely to get a result!

Their solution right now is "turn old style entry page off."

I'm guessing that's all the volunteers are really allowed to reply at this point, but I got one from astronewt saying it should be fixed by the end of the day.

A practical workaround (aka "Yes, we all know we shouldn't have to, but that doesn't help me read my flist") is this for paid accounts, or just sticking with the Minimalism/Georgia workaround pages we've been using until the fix rolls out, since we're talking a span of hours, maybe a day tops.
