Well, on a quantum level, that's not entirely true. But they're not at the quantum level.
He tries to explain, gets rewarded with blank looks and questions. Because they've disproved that, right? Here they are in the '70s, and somewhere out there, younger versions of themselves, living uncomplicated lives.
It's not a contradiction, he says. They aren't the same people they were then. Not on a mental level, not on a molecular level, not on a quantum level. Isotopes, not duplicates.
But no one understands.
