Hello, all! I was just trawling randomly around LJ and found this group -- what a great idea! Nice to know that there are other people out there who geek and spin . . . thought I'd post a few pics as an intro.
I'm into spinning via historical reenactment and teaching, so I'm working on simply getting techniques down, playing with various natural/historical dyestuffs, and the like, rather than designing yarn per se -- but since I'm a diehard Doctor Who fan, I have to admit one of the first things I thought after an indigo-dye experiment was that the resulting blues were remarkably TARDIS-y.
The Tenth Doctor agrees, and approves (New Zealand white wool, spun, plied and indigo dyed by me):

Meanwhile, Captain Jack Harkness is delighted by the camouflage opportunities of my (rather disorganized) yarn basket:

Who knows? (Pun not intended, but I'll run with it anyway . . .) Maybe this will open up a whole new hobby area for me! ;)
