Perhaps you were all right and maybe JKR is unethical. Her statements regarding a few things and on her website have made me reconsider my high opinion of her. Lets talk about Hero worship for a moment and how I forgot my place in this world. It's clear to me that perhaps I placed too much faith in a person I didn't know and have never met. Hi. Thanks for replying. I do understand. I think that your goal here is admirable, and that you are completely well intentioned, but calling out people like this, just doesn't work.

Opening a dialog, like this, only not so accusatory.
Maybe getting together with like minded people, to start a grassroots campaign, on a small level, expansion is always possible. Not targeting people, as a whole, but their actions.

Other than those ideas, all we can do is police our own.

How do you intend to 'police' me? I'm doing nothing illegal. There is nothing in my fic that kids can't buy in a bookstore without EITHER parental permission OR ID--Jacqueline Carey, VC Andrews, Suetonius, the Anita Blake lady, Poppy Z Brite, even Mercedes the Lackwit...

If you don't read my fics, I don't care.

If your friends don't read my fics, I don't care.

Every time someone raises a stink about this kind of thing and there's a big public argument or denunciation, more people join my Yahoogroup and friend me. The Black List is nothing more than free advertising. 'Look, look, here's where you can go to find racy stuff!'

Actually, I bought my Jacqueline Carey off the rack at the supermarket. And it was mixed in with the coloring books and the bubble gum right next to the register. I look like I'm about twelve, and no one batted an eye.

My first comment was meant sarcastically.
The second reply was in response to, what to them is, something they feel strongly about.
Me, I have two children. I care about what they watch. I care about what
they see, and I care about what they hear. Yeah, I 'police' Them. Only them
