Fandom Radio, October 10

Oct 10, 2007 23:26

Welcome, Fandom, to another night of radio at the voice of me. Hopefully everyone's recovered from the weekend and are in preparation for something nice and calm. Take the weekend to clean your rooms, hide all the things you weren't supposed to buy with your parents' credit card, and maybe set up bunkers so your parents won't ever find you. Just some helpful advice.

School, where we get the grades

Professor Aly subbed for Japanese class today, which meant movie day. Anders spent time distracted, though the squirrel has decided not to speculate on why. Alternative Tactics used unorthodox weapons. ...I swear, this school. The students looked at a psi shield, whatever that is, and discussed things, like maybe what a psi shield is. One of the Peters and Rikku stayed after class. Maybe they were still confused.

Feminism also had a movie day, which makes me wonder if all the teachers were hung over or something, but that would mean admitting that they have lives, which is a little weird. Career Choices played in caves. What, like spelunking? Well, someone's gotta do it, right? I guess? I don't know what sort of jobs involve spelunking, besides maybe spelunker. Anyway, Cedric and River talked about the equipment. I have to wonder if anyone else has the same questions I do.

Professor Bea- Jean-Paul held office hours, the cafeteria was quiet today, and Adah opened the library, complete with what my notes assure me is handholdy adorableness. Sometimes I'm really impressed that the squirrels can write in all caps, and then I realize I should be really impressed that I can read their handwriting at all. Or is it paw-writing? And in study hall, Professor Aly took charge and was totally cool about everything. Zuko only loved her for her doughnuts, which is good, because if he loved her for more than that we would so make the news, and Professor Kerrigan offered to up her security. I have heard a lot of schools now have metal detectors and stuff. Like that? Aly came back to a room full of Jamies after class, and John Sheppard talked to her about ducks. Sometimes you just need to discuss the little things, I guess.

In clubs, Molly and Rikku are taking over the cheerleaders, and as their first act in... office, they made everyone lay down. Okay, I don't know too much about cheerleading besides what I've seen at the occasional football game and all, but I think you're doing it wrong. John Sheppard threatened to usurp, and amid warmup and practice, Aly suggested doing something for Parents Weekend. They might need to graduate to standing up first.

And at the office, the egg has hatched. Oh, congratulations! This is a congratulations thing, right?

Dorms, where I have totally not taken over 415 entirely, no

Tonight was America's Next Top Model, which meant Isabel had a spot in a common room staked out. One of the Peters was worried he was late for the makeovers, but he turned out to be just in time. Whew. I know the makeovers are always my favorite part of practically anything. Summer and Isabel discussed the merits of mindless self-indulgence, which I can firmly get behind, as long as you balance it out by like reading something sometimes. Isabel and Hoshi talked about televised brain cell killers, which sounds like a movie, and are we sure it isn't? Ronan may or may not have gotten hooked, and just give in. It's much easier that way, and you can pick up some great tips along the way. You, too, Adam. And Turtle, ever ahead of the curve, plotted out her own show and a separate copyright.

Aravis was worried, and fell asleep with a book on her face. Whether she was so worried she panicked herself into passing out or if the book-on-the-face thing was an anti-stress method of some sort, I don't know. Dick and Annette discussed plastic surgery and pot, and I don't think I want to know how those two things go together, Beauty became a kitty- what is with this school and people turning into animals? Anyway, she got scritches from AJ, and don't you just look at them when they're human again and remember that you totally did that? It's a serious question, I'm really curious.

Town, where the business happens

Deadpool and Arashi took in some America's Next Top Model, showing that all generations can enjoy style. Bart opened Turtle and Canary, where Jim talked with him about the dance and looked into little trophies. Annette tried to get in some beach time while she could with a sandcastle, and she talked fashion with Ino and compared summers with Rose, and over at Wonders of the World, Joanna is trying to quit smoking. Good for you! You can do it! Anytime you want to go back, remember the yellow teeth and nails, and the premature aging.

George Michael opened the banana stand, and got into an argument with Gabriel over the bananas. I really can't see how you would argue over something like that. Johnny Storm opened the Photo Hut and got a coffee delivery and a visit from Mary. The Magic Box, church, Pixie Dust and The Arms were all open, as was Luke's, where AJ teased Rose, who was just there for a milkshake. Whether this had anything to do with the milkshake ninja who visited Beauty at the post office remains to be seen.

Professor Wilson saw Professor Aziraphale off on a trip, which may have been why he was unperked at the clinic, Rose had a dream, and I'm a little icked by the squirrels being able to tell that, Mary came to talk to Dr. Keyworth about his party, and Sean made a checkup phone call to Savannah. The guy with the face opened Caritas, and Kabuto exploded origami at the Devil's Nest, where Ino wondered what his issues are. You and me both, sister. Though apparently there was an argument that led to being tied up. I'm less down with that.

That's it from me! See you all next week, and enjoy your free time while it lasts!
