Day 10: Why aren’t these two married?

Well, if they're Mom and Dad....

Seriously: I am offended by this question on a couple of levels. Marriage != Epitome of people who work together, or the gold seal on a relationship that 'works' and/or will work for a long time. Nor is it the epitome of two people who bicker like cats and dogs and nag each other. Know what else it's not (in spite of my snarky quip)? A necessary precursor to children, or defined by having children.

"Married" is a legal status change with legal rights that should be, but is not, an option available to all couples who want it. It's not the relationship.

I suppose, though, to answer the question honestly: these two are married because they don't want to be, they've both got enough divorce between them to know the piece of paper/legal status change doesn't mean it'll last forever, and even if they wanted to get married they couldn't, because they're both men.

/annoyed bitching.
