[Damon] After the Rain

Damon didn't get a chance to talk to Jon before the rain started. He huddled with Claire and Aaron in their shelter, because it provided more protection from the rain. Aaron slept quietly in his homemade cradle, and Damon and Claire talked about the influx of new people.
When the sun broke through the clouds again, Damon ducked out with a promise to see Claire and Aaron later.
Finding Jon was easy; he just sensed for his fellow Tomorrow Person's presence. He wasn't surprised to find Jon huddled in conversation with Daniel.
"Hey, Jon, got a minute?"
"If I say no, you still gonna talk to me?" Jon asked flippantly, but he smiled no less.
Damon chuckled and continued, "It's about the trip to the TARDIS."
"I like Claire and Aaron, but I'm not babysitting."
"Is there a problem?" Daniel asked, concern etched in his features.
"No, no problem. But, Sam Tyler came to me with an interesting question regarding transportation."
Jon paled and stiffened. /No./
Damon leveled a glare at him, /You haven't even heard the proposition./
/I don't want to hear it. You said it yourself, I'm not even good at teleporting myself yet -/
/You don't *want* to be good at teleporting yourself./
"You do realize that I know you two are talking even if I can't hear you?" Daniel prompted quietly.
/What is it?/ Ami interjected. /Instead of having a lengthy debate, just come out with it./
"Teleportation," Damon said aloud and telepathically. "Sam thought it would be safer. Now, Ami and I have never been to the TARDIS, so we can't do it. But, if you could just take one of us there, then we could take the whole party."
Daniel peered at Jon over his glasses, "You know, Jon, that's not such a bad idea."
Jon threw his hands up in the air, "Oh for crying out loud!"
