[Daisy] And now for something completely different... sinanju November 26 2007, 21:49:54 UTC
Daisy was content to shuffle around slowly in John's arms. She paid no attention whatsoever to the music or its tempo. Slow dancing was a great warm-up for sex. She giggled once and when John asked her what was so funny she asked, "Why do Baptists never have sex standing up?"

"I don't know," John said. "Why?"

"People might think they were dancing." John chuckled obediently and they continued dancing.

Then Blaise walked over. Daisy thought perhaps he was going to cut in, but he leaned in to whisper into John's ear. Daisy felt John stiffen for a moment, then relax. His laugh rumbled in her ear where she had it pressed to his shoulder. "I'm in," John said.

"What was that about?" Daisy asked.

"It's a surprise," John replied.

Daisy didn't argue, but she kept her eyes open as they danced. She saw Blaise talking to several other people, including the keepers of the makeshift sound system. Eventually he wandered back over. "It's time," he said to John.

"Gotta go," John said to Daisy. He kissed her. "Back in a bit."

Daisy watched John follow Blaise to the middle of the "dance floor" where they were joined by Ash, Hugh, Bill and Frank Parker! The six men lined up side by side. Blaise pointed at the "musicians" and the current song cut off in mid-note.

Billy Ray Cyrus's "Achy Breaky Heart" started playing, and the six of them started line dancing....

Frank knew he was going to regret this in the morning. He already knew the hangover was going to kill him, the line dancing would just be the nail in the coffin. If he was sober he probably would have had enough sense to not be out line dancing with busted ribs, but no one could ever say that Frank Parker took the smart way.

He could blame it all on that drink he took for the Commander, it probably put him over the top before actually eating anything. Ah well, Frank's general philosophy was to have fun now and deal with the consequences in the morning. Why should tonight be any different from the rest of his life?

The man could actually move, though he was more then slightly inebrieted so no one could really fault him for missing a few steps... could they? Good thing he didn't have a partner or she'd have bruised toes.
