River walked ahead of the group, keeping to the semi-solid grass at the edge of the sand. Up ahead the community waited, unwary. Some things must be. Oona would understand. So would the Doctors.
She saw when others noticed them. Some

Another bunch of strangers. Three men and two women. One of the men was kind of cute and his roaming eyes assessed everyone and everything. Another was dressed in a uniform of some kind and looked like he thought he was too good for everyone around him; he was even wearing gloves, like he was afraid he'd catch something nasty if he touched anyone. The third guy was big and muscular and might be cute if he wasn't scowling all the time ( ... )

ROTFLMAO!
More like she was a rabbit watching for hawks. ... George ignored her for the moment.
Yes! My plan is working perfectly! *cackles*

snicker. He tried to hide it as he removed his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes. The hour was getting late, so Daniel didn't return the sunglasses to his pocket.
"Except," Daniel reminded her, "Money is really useless here."
"We could charge something," George insisted.
"No one said that the toll had to be monetary," Faith joined them. Her words were low and lascivious, clearly suggested and Daniel gave a slight, sad shake of his head. He already missed the young woman who let down her guard and didn't turn everything into a sexual game. Still, Faith's blantant and open sexuality might be a good distraction while they sized up the new people ( ... )

He listened to this Daniel guy, who seemed to be in charge. He could take 'im. River stepped on his foot then, not that it hurt none as they was standin' in sand an all.
Then the woman started circlin. And wasn't she shiny? He didn't usually go for brunettes, but she moved like a preditor.
"Hey, she can antagonize me all she likes." Jayne looked her up and down.

White said in one of his less condescending tones, "Yes... and looking at the camp, there's some reason why you all haven't yet left."
Since he'd voiced the question Joon would have asked Jackson, she kept quiet and waited for his reply.

Ripley had quietly, invisibly watched over the group as they made their way back to the camp. All except for the blond with the gloves seemed to be okay. The blond -- Remy -- gave Ripley the creeps. She'd keep an eye on him.
As she padded across the sand toward the impromptu meeting Ripley noticed who did and didn't notice her approach. Tyler, who stood near Daniel, was one of the latter. Ripley grabbed his ass when she stopped beside him.
"Aah!" The Brit jumped about a foot, then turned a glare on her. "Ripley!" he growled. Even in the dim light his blush was obvious.
"Tyler," Ripley returned, grinning. To Daniel she said, "I'm sorry. Please, continue."

"This is our own personal roach motel," Faith spoke up before Daniel good. She pointedly ignored the look he gave her - moving from exasperated to resigned. Of course, most of the new crop looked at her like she was speaking a foreign language.
"Twentieth century pop-culture," Faith said with a toss of her hair. "Roaches check in, but they don't check out. It was, oh never mind. You had to be there."
With his usual diplomacy, Daniel jumped in, "What Faith is saying so eloquently is that we're all stuck here. There isn't a way off of this island that we've found so far. We can't reach anyone with a radio signal, or anything else, and we have strong reason to believe that it's because we're trapped in a temporal bubble."
