Welcome back to "Say What?" Today we're tackling the sayings a chain is only as strong as its weakest link and a house divided against itself cannot stand, both of which deal with the strength (or lack thereof) in a given item.

Okay, as a Brit, my knowledge of American history isn't as good as it might be, but is this an exact quote, or should it be 'become'?

My only other quibble, and I think it's a case of word preference; the lead in to your last example in the chain proverb, you say 'like so' - I feel it would read better as 'like this'
