Today is not the day I wanted to wake up with a migraine. Not on, brain. Not on. Perhaps my fannish love has grown so large that my head is going to explode

One thing I do get nervous about is the handwaving when it comes to money, because yes, fandom is generous, but despite JournalFen's popularity, it doesn't get even close to enough money to operate on. What would make any other project different?
Thanks for the link. You're right; it was totally worth reading.
You're also right about the money issue. I'm attempting to write a post about this, but I keep getting distracted by other things. But the more I've thought about it, the more I think this project can't be an LJ clone. A journaling site based solely on revenue from paid accounts... I don't think it's a sustainable business model in the long-term. Sure, everyone is supportive and offering money right now, but a year from now? I don't know. I think we need to look hard at some other sites and come up with some other ideas. I think we need to offer more functionality and features than LJ to get people to move.
And thanks, my migraine is better. Took all day to go away, but at least it went away. :)
IJ is run by "Squeaky," who lists his real name as Jason and as living in Florida. I think the rumor is false; he's been interacting with the refugees and hasn't given me any reason to suspect he's hiding anything.
Nah, insanejournal's owned by a real person. It says so on the site, and when you pay for an account, you get a real phone number to call if you have any issues -- something 6A would never do.
