After hearing the news that Angel had drank the antidote, Bel took Phoebe home when all the emotions in the clinic got to be too much for her. First thing in the morning he returned to the clinic to check on Angel, hovering at the door until he saw some sign the vampire was awake.

This time when Angel woke up to company he looked more like someone simply waking up, rather than someone who had just been dragged from his second grave.

"M - " he paused, frowned. "Is it morning?"

"Yeah," Bel said, grinning to hear Angel's voice stronger than it had been. He stepped into the room. "It's Saturday morning."

Angel rubbed a tired hand over his eyes. "I'm not dead."

Pause.

" - er than usual."

"Do you remember anything about last night?" Bel asked. "Things were pretty bad then."

"Bits and pieces?" Angel said. He had flashes of memory of some of it. He also suspected some parts were better left forgotten. "Is everyone okay?"

"I think so," Bel said. "Um, Callisto kind of lost it so Janet gave her a sedative, but as far as I know she's okay."

"I don't think she really knew what she was doing," Bel said evasively. "She was pretty hysterical." A few weeks ago he might have more gleefully played up Callisto's actions.

Angel nodded. "Long as she's okay."

He rubbed his stomach, then looked at Bel hopefully. "Is there something to eat? I'm starving."

"I'll go check with the doctor on duty," Bel said. "There still should be some pig's blood here." He headed out the door to go find Christian.

"Thanks," Angel said. While Bel was gone, he settled back against the pillows. He saw the flowers from CJ, and the various gifts from everyone else, and smiled.

Christian walked into the exam room after Bel had requested blood for Angel. He had a mug of fresh pig's blood in his hands and offered it to the vampire. "Whatever they did here last night seems to have worked," he said. "You're looking a lot better."

Okay, the scent was different so Angel was pretty sure he knew the answer to this. But in Fandom it never hurt to check.

"You're not Bel who suddenly aged about twenty years and went to medical school, are you?"

Christian sighed. "No," he said. "I'm not Bel. But I haven't been glared at and threatened with a taser so much since I was an undergrad."
