FTEC, Thursday, March 2

Mar 02, 2006 10:55

As Christian prepared to open the clinic, he looked over the records of the patients from the day before. Or what could losely be called records, given Tommy's way of noting things.

Sandburg, Blair. Issues that sounded like the kid needed a barber, not a doctor.

Christian wondered what oddness this day would bring.

ETA: Phoebe's visit is NFB.

Phoebe had decided to stop by the clinic to talk to someone about her migraines and get a new prescription for them, but when she saw who was manning the clinic today, she faltered.

She couldn't decide whether to approach the doctor or duck out.

Christian raised an eyebrow when he caught sight of the girl who had thrown himself at his jock on his first night here. Pretty enough, but if she was dating that Belthazor kid, she couldn't be too bright. Which was usually the way he liked them.

"If you're planning on kissing me again," he said to her, "I should tell you I'm not your boyfriend."

Phoebe raised an eyebrow right back at him.

"Not drunk this time," she said. "I know you're not Cole, so no kissing today, mmkay?"

Her smile was friendly, albeit a little nervous. "I'm actually here because I need to talk to someone about my headaches."

"Headaches?" Christian said. He took out a chart and started to fill it out. "What's your name again, sweetheart. And class year."

Phoebe nodded. "Some of them get pretty bad... debilitating, even." She smiled. "Phoebe Halliwell. Seventeen. Junior."

Christian wrote down her information. "Debilitating?" he repeated. "What are your symptoms? How often do you get them?"

Phoebe bit her lip. "Every week or two? Sometimes they get so bad that all I can do is lay down and even then it hurts." She did not say that they tended to get worse whenever something that triggered extreme spikes in her empathy happened... then again, according to the radio, he was having fun with Lilly.

"Is the pain on one side of your head, or both?" Christian asked. "Where do you feel it? Are you sensitive to light while experiencing the headache? Any dizziness or nausea? *handwavey medical jargon of symptoms*

"One side, usually the left side from my eyes to the back. Very sensitive to light and to movement. I do get dizzy." *handwaves appropriate responses*

Christian checked Phoebe's blood pressure and did a few other *handwavey* tests. "Sounds like migraines," he agreed. "I can give you a prescription for Imatrex, and if that doesn't work, you should come back for more tests."

Phoebe nodded. "Alright, I will, thank you, Dr. Troy." She bit her lip and then looked at him. "Could you please do me a favor?"

As he wrote out the prescription and handed it to Phoebe, Christian asked, "What?"

"Could you not tell anyone I was here? See, there are people here who take my health and well-being very seriously and if they find out I had to come to the clinic for my headaches? They'll hover and worry."

"Of course," Christian said as he edited the post to reflect this. "Our patients' records are confidential."
