Gabrielle was fairly sure she'd stashed scrolls, a spare quill, and bottle of ink in one of the drawers at the front desk last week for occasions just like this one, when she had an idea in her head and needed to write it down right away (and modern pens and paper might be fine for taking notes in class, but not for this).

So of course it stood to reason that as soon as she sat down at the desk and pulled open that drawer, she found a loaf of nutbread sitting next to her scrolls. (Next to, thank the gods, not on. Parchment was not cheap.) An unexpected but typical-for-Fandom kind of surprise? Yes. Tempting? Absolutely; she loved nutbread.

A few experimental sniffs seemed to indicate that it was pretty freshly made, and just fine as far as she could tell, but had she even noticed the henbane last time? No.

The explanation of why Gabrielle ended up spending several hours in an apparent staring contest with baked goods wouldn't actually be a long story, but if you asked her to tell it -- it would be one.

[OOC: . . . I have no idea. Open, though.]
