Han comes around in the clinic, unsure where he is. He's groggy, his chest hurts and some very low voices are singing about "Desperados waiting for a train." Last thing he remembers was the pretty dark-haired lady jabbing him with a needle.

A groan seems like the most he can cope with at this point

Lana's sitting in a chair next to him, dozing.

She stirs when she hears him groan and gets up to go over and check on him, rubbing her face as she does so. "Han. Hey, the doctor says you're going to be okay." She brushes a stray lock of hair off his forehead and manages a smile for him.

He blinks at her. "Morning, doll." His mouth feels like sandstorm season blew through. He looks at the IV, the bandages and gives her a lopsided smile. "Too wicked to die young."

"And a good thing too," she replied. "Not ready to lose you, yet. You must be thirsty. Let me sit you up a bit and get you some water."

He nods. "Feels like I ate my way through a shirt or something." He manages to scoot around to sit up. His head pounds and he sucks in his breath with a wince. "Tell me we got 'em."

"You did," she says quietly and holds a cup with a straw up to him so he can sip from it. "Slowly," she warns him.

"And everybody made it through - some less successfully than others," she continued, raising her eyebrows at him. She looked like she'd been up all night.

He sips slowly, the water helping. "You okay? Shep make it?" He shuts his eyes a second. "How's Maia?"

She manages a wry grin. "If Shep didn't make it you think I'd be anywhere other than curled up in a fetal postion somewhere? He's okay - for Shep. Some frostbite on his hands, shark bite on his ankle. Maia..."

She sighed. "Maia's doing okay now, i think. I left her sleeping in her room, with a note telling her where I was, and came to check up on you. She was pretty shocky last night. I got her cleaned up and into bed and stayed with her while she fell asleep. She's blaming herself for your injuries - something about the water ballons freezing?"

"Anyway, I think she's better. And I discovered that I look silly as hell in your jacket." She makes a face at him.

"Send her to see me now that I'm gonna live. All my stupid fault. Forgot to keep my head down." He reaches over and touches her face. "Bet you looked adorable in it."

He thinks a second. "Lana, I need a favor. Can you get me paper and pen? I just know Beautiful listened to the radio and I know he's panicking if they said anything about me being injured. Need to drop him a note."

"I told her if she slept I'd let her come see you when she got up."

She makes a face at the idea that she looked adorable in his jacket then pulls paper and a pen from her purse. "Brought some just in case. I told Maia I'd call him for you, but I didn't know how to reach him."

"Thanks. I'll comm him when I'm out of here. Need to call Chewie too. He'd gonna laugh at me and tell me next time to remember to stay under cover."

"Sounds like a smart idea." Lana smiled wearily at him. "I know I'd appreciate it if you and Shep would both learn that."

Maia stood outside Hans door for a few minutes, his jacket folded over her arm. She had seen Lana's note and come slowly, blaming herself for Hans injuries unsure if he would even want to see her after what happened. Swallowing hard she knocked softly on the door and opened it.

Lana got up and went over to the door. "Maia. Hey, you feeling better this morning? Han's good. He was just saying I should tell you to come see him."

Maia nodded holding tight still to Hans jacket. "Is he, is he really ok?" She whispered quietly her eyes meeting Lana's. "Thank you, for staying with me last night and leaving me the note for this morning."

"He's really going to be just fine. I wouldn't lie to you about something like that," Lana said firmly. "And he doesn't blame you and he's going to be thrilled to see you.'

"And you're welcome. I didn't leave till I was sure you were sound asleep, but I didn't want you to wake up and think I'd just abandoned you. I've been sitting down here with Han waiting for him to wake up." She gave Maia a fleeting half-smile. "Shep always jokes that they're going to end up giving him his own room or bed here. I think they're going to give me my own chair."
