Lee hadn't seen anyone around swatting at a pecking bird so he guessed the second and checked her cabin first. No go there so now he was in the second most likely place.
Okay, so, she was human and looked okay and maybe he could make this a nice, pleasant visit.

She struggled a little with those last few words. Although she said it, she knew that upset wasn't the right word. Hurt was. But she had trouble admitting when anyone really hurt her, even more so when it was him. And that it had been now.
