FTEC -- June 21st -- Day Shift.

Mvufu. Owl. Adah thought it with a shiver as she stepped into the clinic and had to pause at the door to recover a little from what she'd experienced with one of those ghost-like figured on the way over here. The rattling chill it left in her stuck to her with a strange emptiness, leaving her without breath and desperately thinking they needed ( Read more... )

By some miracle Brooke made it to the clinic unscathed. She might never leave the clinic because of that simple fact, actually. And completely bad in a crisis- and with friends getting hurt and ghosts and monsters, this counted- her voice was already shaking when she said, "I heard Lucas Scott was here?"

Adah took a moment after taking quick stock of the other girl (wasn't she the one who faked the sprained ankle?)'s own slightly frazzled state to double check the name on her information that verified the coma victim. She gave a small nod. "Exam One," she informed her. "Currently in a deep comatose state."

It wasn't even Lucas' first coma, but it didn't make it any easier to hear again. "I mean..." she said, choking up a little, "how bad? That sounds bad. Is he gonna be okay?"

"...I've seen worse," Adah muttered, with a dull look across the table at the other girl. Seen, and experienced, and this Lucas Scott was in a better physical condition from the get go. "All his vitals check just fine; his heart rate is still a little quick and his temperature still low, but I know from firsthand experience that that would be the effect that those ghosts have on people. Nothing alarming or troublesome. Just a matter of time, I think."

Brooke was obviously relieved, and also, not used to hearing hopeful things out of clinics and hospitals. Usually it was a lot of big technical words she didn't understand followed by things like not out of the woods yet and we'll just have to see. She sort of didn't know how to deal with that.

"Thank you," she said gratefully. "I'm just going to go and see him."

Of course she was. Adah still didn't understand what the point of seeing people who were unconscious was, but she shrugged her good shoulder and gave a small nod. "Exam One," she repeated, quirking her head now toward the door to let her know that she could just take her time and make her own way.
