Natalie was surprised to find the clinic so full -- and not pleasantly surprised. She was even less thrilled when she began to review the patient charts. Dr. Wilson had done a good job patching everyone up, but the injuries were still worrisome. Lana dozed uneasily, waking every now and again with a start. She really didn't want to wake up screaming from the nightmares.

At some point Lana woke up and reached out to touch him. "Jim... will you sleep with me?" Yes, it would be tight, but she just needed him closer.

She carefully slid herself over. "I'll be fine. I'll be so much better if I can hold onto you."

Jim hesitated a moment but he wasn't about to deny her anything. So he carefully perched on the edge of the bed, taking his cues from her and moving slowly.

She tugged him further onto the bed and wrapped her arms around him, slowly and carefully resting her head on his shoulder. "Better," she said. "I need you with me."

"I've been here the whole time." Jim carefully looked for a place to kiss and located a patch of forehead that seemed safe. "I'm always here for you."
