FTEC - Saturday Evening Shift [3/3]

Mar 03, 2007 22:55

The nurse had been a little concerned when 5pm came and went and Wilson didn't show up but since the clinic was quiet and she had his pager number, she didn't fret overly. A quiet night without a doctor to bother her was a blessing.

Too bad that in about an hour FHT the quiet night was going to be shattered and the clinic was going to find itself ( Read more... )

The waiting area was going to get a little busy.

Nadia came in under her own power, thank you very much, and sat down in one of the chairs in the lobby, compulsively flexing and wiggling her fingers and wrist, ignoring the occasional pangs of pain from the still injured muscles in her forearm and shoulder.

"I am never letting you out of my sight again," she told her hand.

Approaching Nadia, Natalie gave a bit of a smirk. "I sometimes talk to myself in the mirror, but I'm not sure I single out body parts," she said. She nodded toward the wrist and arm. "Would you like me to take a look at that?"

Nadia held out her arm to the doctor. "I think it needs a wrap or something. To make sure it stays on."

Anders came staggering into the clinic from 50A Minotaur Lane, his shirt spattered with blood from his split lip and an unconscious Bridge in his arms.

Wilson was more than a little disheveled himself and missing his damn belt but he still came in close on Ander's heels.

"Here, set him on the bed and sit down yourself." He said in a tight voice, moving quickly to wash his hands in the exam room sink.

Anders nodded and carefully set Bridge down on the bed, then took a seat in the chair. "Ow," he mumbled faintly.

After Bridge and Anders were seen to and Wilson heard that Natalie had come in and been looking after Nadia, the oncologist slipped off to exam room 2.

His chest felt tight and while he didn't think anything was bruised, he figured it couldn't hurt to take a look while he was here in the clinic and had access to the necessary bandages. Finally coming down off the adrenaline high he'd had since going down to the Wastelands, Wilson sighed softly as he leaned against the exam table and unbuttoned his shirt.

After treating Nadia and making some preliminary notes, Natalie resumed her search for Dr. Wilson, who was reportedly injured himself. She heard the slight rustle of fabric in exam two and took a wild guess that the doctor was probably trying to treat himself. She shook her head as she entered. "I'd say it's a nice view, if I didn't know it was probably as tender as raw meat." Smirking, she arched her brow and stood with her hands on her hips.

With a small 'eep' Wilson looked up and over towards Natalie, a slightly guilty expression on his face and perhaps a hint of a blush as well.

"Evening, Dr. Lambert. Uh, thank you...for coming in and helping out." He offered to cover the boyishly flustered heat on his cheeks.

Giving his side a small poke, Wilson quirked up one corner of his mouth and nodded.

"Pretty tender but not broken, I don't think."

Nat looked less than convinced. "The nurse seemed to think you might need the help," she said, "with the kids, and with your own injuries." She cut him a glare before moving forward. "Let me see."
