Tara takes a seat nervously, wringing her hands. "I hurt someone yesterday. I didn't mean to, I was trying to help her, but now she's in a coma and she won't wake up, and it's all my fault."
"She's a seer, but she's got no shielding, no control. I was trying to take her through some meditation techniques - and nothing should have happened, but I promised her there was nothing bad that could possible happen, and I was upset, and I didn't cast a circle first, and she was attacked - psychically I mean - and it's just be sucking away at her energy and now there's not even enough left to open her eyes." Tara says this all in one breath, and then looks up at Jonathan, wincing, waiting for his reaction.
Tara shakes her head helplessly. "I don't know. I was feeding her my own energy after the attack, and she seemed to be getting better, but then I went out and left her alone while I played the social butterfly, and now she's too weak to even accept my energy. Dr. House says he'll do what he can, but... I think she'd dying."
well, it isn't as if you didn;t think Dr. House and modern medicine could help her right?
You left her in the capable hands of the Fandom Clinic. Surely if you had thought she stood the best chance with you by her side you would have stayed.
"No, no... um, this all started Wednesday morning. I stayed up with her all Wednesday night, to make sure she was okay, but I left her on her own Thursday night. I found her unconscious Friday afternoon, and that's when I took her to the clinic." She rubs her face, wearily. "I've been with her all night, but that doesn't change the fact that I left her alone Thursday, when I knew she wasn't well."
"She was, and I still think helping her is important, but I was totally irresponsible about it. First rule of magic is that you always cast a circle first, but I was upset, and it was only meditation, so I didn't. And then I guided her to open herself up - and this thing wouldn't have been able to attack her if I'd just been more responsible."
this thing that attacked her, why did it go for her and not you. If it's point was to suck the life out of some one, wouldn't it stand to reason that you would be a better target?
Tara frowns. "Well, I wasn't open, I was just talking Ma... my friend through the meditation. So it might not have been able to get me. And she thinks it might have been a reaction from the people who made her a seer in the first place. Like they noticed she was trying to control it, and wanted to stop her. So they wouldn't have cared about me."
Tara sits silently for a moment, biting her lip. "Maybe. If she's right, if it's the people who gave her powers, they'd have taken notice of her eventually."

It's very selfless of you to want to end her pain. I'm sure she's grateful.

It's possibe this was just these people doing what they do, maybe even finishing whatever they started when they gave your friend visions.
