FTEC, Wednesday Night

May 17, 2006 20:08

Entering the clinic, Nat did a quick change out of her rain jacket and into a lab coat, draping her stethoscope around her neck. She then picked up the charts and made her rounds. That done, she settled in to the front desk with Lappy her laptop and continued working on her writing project. Hopefully she wouldn't be quite as distracted by it...

Monkeys need not apply.

What does the Front Desk have against Monkeys anyway?

Intolerance will not be... tolerated...

Yeah!

Mr. Neilson found a pile of non-essential looking books/papers/magazines to knock over.

Eep!

//Oops!//

You would need to be a monkey to know how disingenuous that "oops" was.

Engrossed in her writing, Natalie gave a start at the sound behind her. She whirled, eyes flashing yellow and hissing. Her mouth was open as she did so, lips barely covering her extended canines. When she realized it was only a monkey -- A monkey? -- she relaxed a bit, hand to what would have been a racing heart. Her eyes returned to normal. "What the--?"

Eep eep!"

//AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!//

Okay, he expected her to be mad, or angry... Possibly she could throw something at him... But flashing yellow eyes and hissing?

Mr. Neilson is a very small monkey, and such things are likely to freak a very small monkey out. He lept from the table, sending anything else on there flying.

Nat spluttered, swatting at papers as they flew and the monkey tried to flee. She reached out and grabbed him by the collar. "And I think I know who you belong to..." She then glanced up toward the exam rooms -- Pippi's in particular.

"Eep eep!"

//ABORT ABORT!! WE'RE BUSTED AGAIN! SAVE ME FROM THE SKEERY LADY!//

Mr. Neilson wriggled around in Nat's grasp.

Walter was already out in the hallways, with Mr. Neilson both calling things off and yelling for rescue, Walter shuffled on down to the lobby to take the heat for the monkey.

Nat arched her brow at the patient working his way down the corridor. "Did you and Pippi lose something, Walter?" Her eyes were now dancing with a bit of mischief, though her pursed lips made it clear that, while amused, she didn't think it was that funny.

"Oh Mr. Neilson..." she said from behind Walter in his wheelchair with her coat and hat on, "What am I going to do with you always... wandering... off..."

Pippi doesn't think she's buying it.

Natalie handed the monkey off to Pippi. "You're in no condition to travel." She eyed Walter. "Either of you."

Walter was pretty sure he'd heard that one before. "I'll get better just as quickly in the dorms as I will here."

Pippi took Mr. Neilson and he promptly disappeared into one of the huge inner pockets of her coat.

Pippi herself seemed terribly interested in the top of Walter's head.

"What he said?"

"And you're going to keep this up if you don't make it out tonight?" She folded her arms across her chest.

Nat regarded them for a moment in the silence. "Fine. But I want you back here, Friday, for a check up." She crossed the room, unlocking the prescription cabinet, and pulling out the appropriate doses of anti-inflammatories, etc.

"I do not want to hear about you...adventuring...for at least two weeks. And by not hearing about it, I mean not doing it." Natalie looked to Walter. "Least of all you."
