Natalie brought in her stainless steel cup again, and would work her way through the contents during the shift. It was wonderful to have coffee back in her diet -- even in such small amounts. Wrapping her stethoscope around her neck, she settled in at the front desk for a few minutes before heading into the lab.

Natalie flipped on the light with an elbow as they moved into the room. "If you could get him onto the bed," she said, moving for her supply cabinet. She withdrew cleansing solution and gauze as well as the materials to stitch up the open wound.

Jarod looked to Goldie, then Becky and GOB. "On three?"

Becky and Goldie both nodded (though the latter rolled her eyes) and hoisted GOB onto the bed on the count of three.

"Can I go now?" Goldie asked. Becky, on the other hand, stood by the bed with her arms crossed. She wasn't going anywhere.

Moving to the bed, Natalie examined the wound from the chest, noting the clean slice, then rolled him gently onto his side, to examine the wound on the back. Pressure had slowed the bleeding, and it looked like it was clotting naturally; she couldn't smell any signs of infection yet. For all intents and purposes, it wasn't bad...but the recovery was going to be painful.

She began cleaning the wound, suddenly glad she had eaten well for dinner.

"What happened?" she asked. Who the hell runs around with a sword these days?

"Don't wear a cop stripper outfit to the brothel," GOB said. "Ninja." He nodded to punctuate that.

"Our...bodyguard's used to dealin' with bad cops," Becky explained. "He busted in an' was mirandizin' me as a joke - s'my birthday - " She glared at GOB again "- an' she just acted on her gut, y'know?"

"No! No cops!" GOB said.

Because Miho would totally kill him if she got in trouble for stabbing him.

"Right." Jarod glanced at Natalie. "If you don't need my help, I'm going to go. It's been a long night, and the Sin is still open."

Her displeasure at no police involvement evident on her face, Nat sighed and nodded. "I'll take care of it." She could, at least, understand the aversion.
