My Heart Moves From Cold to Fire

May 23, 2009 00:11

The first time (so far from the last) she feels her heart race in William Adama’s presence, it is shocking - her heart slams into her ribcage as if it were a wild animal, beating itself against its prison walls. The room is dim, and he looks good, kneeling on the floor of his cabin (so much younger than now, less weight spread across his frame as ( Read more... )

Technically it is SATURDAY. So it was two fics, two days hahahaha. I just knew I wouldn't have much time to post this tomorrow. Saturdays are always so darn busy.

In shorter fanfics, I really think the last sentence or two are the most important part of the fic, and this one really has a great payoff. I love being able to sit back and say, the whole story goes right to *there*.

I like the whole motif of her heart wanting to be with his.

oh if her godsdamned heart would just stop trying to leave her body to join this man’s, she’d be fine

Very nice!!

BTW, claraon and I were just saying the other day, how we miss this comm. Right, claraon?

Oh, and I still need to read your other fic, but I'm afraid I won't know what's going on since I haven't read Outside the Garden. I've upped my rating tolerance to R, but NC17 is just too much for me. :)

.........Okay, this is totally random but the TV just caught my attention-- A commercial for the news -- "A woman, a monkey suit, and a giant banana. Tonight at 11."

Thought this bit especially lovely.
