Title: Touched
Author: claudia6913
Rating: G
Pairing: Willow/Oz
Summary: Willow chooses Oz over Tara. Season 4.
Disclaimer: I play in the fields of Joss' imagination. It's pretty here.
A/N: Nearly forgot about this one, and after reading again, a plot bunny sequel type thing has bitten. We'll see what happens. All my Willow/Oz is, as always, dedicated to rileysaplank. =)

Touched

He'd touched her. Touched Willow. He'd felt the softness of her skin, smelled the freshness of her hair, and yet, where was he? Cowering in his van, afraid of changing into the werewolf. Afraid, not for his life, but for hers.

Oz had thought he could handle seeing her again, and honestly, when he'd first laid eyes upon her he'd been happy, really happy, but then he'd seen the other girl, the one that smelled like Willow, and it all had fallen apart after that.

It wasn't supposed to go the way it had. Oz had thought he'd had more control than that, thought he could do this...see her again, hold her again. Hell, even talk to her. This was what he had worked all of this time for, to see Willow, to keep control of the beast within. But, what had he expected, for her to just wait for him to come back? The saddest part of all was that was exactly what he had expected. Oz had assumed that Willow would just be waiting for him when he got back. Thought she'd be there with a tear in her eye, a smile on her face, and open arms.

Fool just didn't quite cover it.

The knock on the door to his van brought him out of his thoughts, but he didn't want to talk to anyone, and if it was the cops, they'd just have to wait. But, whoever it was didn't want to wait and they opened up the door.

"Go - " Oz started to say, but stopped himself when he looked up. He couldn't believe it. He watched as Willow climbed into the van, closing the door behind her.

"Hey," Willow said, a bit nervously. "Do you, um, mind?"

Oz shook his head no, not sure if she was real or some dream. If she was a dream, he didn't want to break the spell. He could see the slight smile on her face. Time and time again Oz had looked into that face in his dreams, seen the hurt and pain he'd caused and it tore him up inside. Now he knew how she had felt.

"So," he said, coming out of his crouch.

"You - you came back," Willow said, her voice soft. She watched as Oz just nodded his head. She smiled again, scooting a little closer to him.

"Well, I'm...I'm glad you did. I missed you Oz."

"I missed you too. So, who...who is she?"

"Who, Tara?” Willow asked. Oz nodded, not looking at her. He could still smell that girl on Willow and it hurt.

Why had he come back? Why torture himself like this? Because he had to know. Oz had to know if she...if maybe she would just give him another chance. Not that he deserved it, but...he couldn't help but to want to be around her. He loved Willow with everything he was. He loved her enough to learn to control the wolf, loved her enough to come back, and loved her enough to love her for the both of them.

"She's - Tara's, well, a friend. She's a wiccan, like me and we do spells together," Willow said. She didn't know herself exactly what Tara was, or could be. It was all so...new, so different, that she really didn't have a name for it yet. But, Oz...was here...it was a bit too much for her.

"That's nice," Oz said. He looked around his van, wishing that there was a better place to talk, somewhere else to have this discussion, but nowhere kept Willow close to him like the confines of his van. So it smelled a little like nachos, big deal.

Willow sighed, looking out the window. The moon was shining bright in the night sky. It was pretty. Then, it dawned on her.

"Um, Oz...you know the moon is full right?” Willow asked nervously. She didn't want to be rude and run, but she felt like doing just that. She'd seen Oz earlier that day partially change in front of Tara. He'd told them to run, and they had.

"Yeah. It's kind of the reason I came back," Oz said, his lips twitching in an almost smile.

"You came back to Sunnydale to...for a full moon?” Willow asked, confused.

"Sort of. I came back because I can sit under a full moon sans fur...with you."

Willow smiled. No words were spoken as she leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. Before he could say anything, do anything, she laid down with her head in his lap and looked out the window. Silence would do. Oz hoped this meant she would stay.
