He had finally made a decision that should have been made much earlier. Even if River had told him not to follow her, she must have known he couldn't stay away. She was the reason he was in Fandom to begin with, she was the reason he had ended up on Serenity. If it hadn't been for his brilliant and crazy sister, and the things she had fallen victim to, he would still be a successful trauma surgeon on Osiris.
There wasn't much he needed to pack. He hadn't brought a lot with him from Serenity, he hadn't accumulated many things while in Fandom, so all that was left to take with him were some medical equipment, a few private things and what clothes remained after Boo's explorations of his wardrobe.
