Today's random thoughts...
Oh macaroni and cheese, how I love you! My ofice is pretty white and looking at this bowl of yellow-orange noodles is very satisfying...tasty too. I almost don't want to eat it so I can stare at it all day. God that is a great color!
So I am here by myself today. I have yet to do any work. I have been planning our new year's party, screwing around on myspace, reading lj, pinkisthenewblog, wikipedia, etc. I'm also planning on leaving at 3, so if some work is going to be done...it had better happen soon.
Along with this topic, it is a little freaky to be in the office all by myself. Nice, because as you saw above, no work is being done, but it's kind of lonely. Poor Nate, I've called him like 100 times. My office has a window so I can see people if they are going to come in which is mildly comforting. A little while ago, the FedEx guy came in and said, "They got you working here all by yourself today, huh?" Needless to say, it was a little disturbing. He is a very nice guy and I talk to him all of the time, but it just made me feel really vulnerable. At first I felt like a pansy girl...then I locked the door. I wish we had a little door at the top to open to talk to people, like at a speakeasy...or the Wizard of OZ. :)
I am also a little freaked out by our little New Year's shin dig. Will the house be clean enough? What kind of food/alcohol/decorations should we get? Will anyone come? Will they have fun? We were kind of nominated to host the party, which was sort of weird. We don't really mind, but I think I'm a little put off because it wasn't really something we've been planning. It's probably for the best...the more time I would have had to plan, the more time I would have had to freak out about it.
The weather blows here today. Very gray, rainy. SAD is kicking in pretty hardcore today. I guess it could be worse; it could be snow. I would love to see the sun though. I guess the mac n' cheese will have to do for now.
