Nothing today…no bears…reset our two traps, D put up an infrared camera setup at our Red Meadow site in conjunction with me putting in some really, really stinky bait.
One of the traps we re-set was the culvert up the south fork of Coal Creek…when we drove up to the gate, our sign telling folks that we would be using the area for wildlife research had been torn down and was on the ground underneath the gate. Upon closer inspection, we noted the distinct circular muddy hair marks on the sign…some bear had rubbed its butt on the panel we put our sign up on. We had to laugh…wonder if it was that male that we released the day before up there…ol’ Scar-butt…leaving us one last sign of him…

Got home around 4 pm, visited with a member of the Nature Conservancy who was up in the North Fork doing some business…and we’ll just hang the rest of the evening. Nice day.
