So yesterday at work, we are allwatching CNN at the bar and contemplating, en masse, the coming apocolypse that is clearly being harbingered by erthquakes, volcanoes, healthcare reform and black presidents. (please note my sarcasm). One of the chicks I work with said that she wasnt worried because Jesus was going to come back and save our immortal souls.
This of coursemade my non-christian mind immeadiately think of the two prophecies that actually give me comfort in these uncertain times: The one that says the native tribeswill one day take back the land that was rightfully theirs and the one that says that in Britains timeofneed Arthur will return to save his kingdom with the help ofhis immortal aide, Merlin.
I guess the fact that Arturus and Jesus existed within not too great of span of time of each other and that though both are prevalent stories, they both have about as much historical evidence to back themselves up with, sort of makes me not crazy.
I do oddly enough find more comfort from Arthur Pendragon than Jesus Christ and I dont know what that says about me.
