About an hour ago, I was in bed reading when I heard three loud thumps that sounded like they were from the roof or my front door. I picked up the cordless phone & went towards the front door until I heard someone trying to open it. Too scared to look in the peep-hole, all I could do was back away & call 911. I told them that someone was trying to get in my apartment. About a minute later (although it felt like 100), police cars showed up and an officer was knocking on my door. Of course, whoever it was was long gone. They took me downstairs & showed me that someone had broken into my car, although by somehow not breaking any windows or setting off my alarm. I would like to think that I set the alarm anyway. All that I can tell so far that was stolen was the faceplate of my stereo. I’m not worried about the car or stereo or anything. I have insurance (although I don’t know if I can make a claim, with no signs of forced entry).
I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared.
