Friday night - Sizers Bday party
Saturday - Another pilgrimage to Superior for margaritas w/Trey, Conchita, Scott, Mamina & Chris. Afterwards, attended art opening of Shannon, Katie & some other people & the Aurora Picture Show. Then we hung out at Rob’s
Sunday - Breakfast at George’s, a long walk on a beautiful morning, and poker at my place
I won 43 bucks! at poker. Wanna know who my good luck charm was? It was Bear. His ashes were delivered to me Saturday & all is well. They are in a cat-shaped granite statue that doesn’t necessarily look like it holds ashes. I have to admit that I feel very little connection with the thing. How does anyone ever know that they are indeed getting the ashes of their cremated loved one? And even if they do, how do you transfer your relationship with the loved one to a pile of dust? Or even a grave, for that matter? I’ve never been any good at it.
Okay. Maybe I feel a small connection. Because I don’t regret having it done.
