First of all, Elissa is an angel and a lifesaver and my room wouldn't be getting as cool as it is without her. She went above and beyond what I would ever ask anyone to do for me.
Getting to DC wasn't that bad today. Although my father took a detour and wound up getting a bit lost in Delaware, it was actually amusing. We wound up getting to school a bit after 2, and schlepped everything upstairs. Somehow we got all of it a) in the car, and b) in two trips. Set up a bit, and went to Giant to go food shopping. Well, snack shopping as the fridge isn't here yet. Came back, did more work on the room, and went to dinner at Maggiano's with the family and Lissa. And then Linens&Things, didn't get everything I need but most, and a quick stop at Best Buy to get a TV. Got a decent one for a hundred bucks. Also waiting for the DVD player to get here... *sigh*
Now, there are two beds in my room, one for me and one for Kate. We've already decided who would have which side, but she had the bed frame I really wanted, the one with the headboard. So, of course, I decide to switch them. Lissa and I dragged everything into the hallway except my desk and the beds and we somehow managed to remove the mattresses and switch the placement of the beds. And then as if that wasn't enough, we put my bed on risers so it's an extra 6 inches off the ground. I like it much better that way actually... Right now there are still two "major" problems, my printer and my alarm clock. I don't like the placement of either but I can't find anywhere better. Bookshelf is on the windowsill, though, which is very good and frees up much space. And I have a feather bed, which will hopefully make my bed more comfortable, we'll see.
And then let's not even start on how my computer wouldn't work properly... Stupid AU things *glares* It got to the point where I gave up, but now it works so I'm afraid to get off...
*yawns* I suppose it's bed time. Been a looong day and I have to wake up and meet the family for breakfast in the morning. And I still have stuff on Kate's bed...
