Summary: In which five teenagers at an American wizarding school are emphatically right, their teacher relates some uncomfortable events, and a textbook full of illogic and contradictions gets the treatment it so well deserves.
Reccer's Notes: Ring-led by POV character Tanisha Jemisin, a class of magical students at Edmonia Lewis Academy in Providence, Rhode Island proceed to spork the crap out of History of Magic in North America. I may have mentioned in
a prior rec that Gehayi has a whole catacomb to pick with Rowling’s continuity, worldbuilding, internal consistency, catastrophic research failure, and general attitude, and gives no quarter. (And note the “AU” tag; the presence of magic, particularly in the hands of oppressed minorities, would create a somewhat different history from the one we know: the divergences, along with copious research and citation links, are set forth in the Author’s Notes.)
